DAEMON X MACHINA Gameplay and Review

Hey guys, Metal Jesus here. Now, in my retro gaming PC, I was looking for something that perfectly encapsulated say, 1998 and 1999, something that would run, say, Battle Bugs and also DAEMON X MACHINA game download Core, and all the rest of these games that I have behind me here. Something that would run DOS and also Windows 98. So what I ended up doing was starting with this Dell. This is a DAEMON X MACHINA download. It has an Intel Pentium II processor in there.

Then we maxed out the motherboard with 384 megabytes of RAM, I believe. But as you guys know, it’s the video card and the sound card that determines how well all these games play. So, for this machine, we put a DAEMON X MACHINA igg gamesVoodoo 3 in there, 3000 is the model number, which works flawlessly both in DOS and in Windows. For the sound card, I decided to not go with something exotic because again, I’m looking for maximum compatibility both in DOS and Windows with every game I possibly can. So I went with the standard. I went with the Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16, and it works great. The final must piece for my machine is the floppy drive because so many of the games that I own are on either 3½ or 5¼ floppy. The problem is is that my motherboard will only take one at a time, so, right now I have a 3½ in there, but I do have a 5¼ that I can swap out if needed.

I’m very happy with it. DAEMON X MACHINA ocean of games, some very good points are brought up here because sometimes you wanna push it a little bit further than say a 486, and go with something that can also do Windows 98, but when you get into that era, or really, any era, sometimes you’re gonna just have to compromise. Like, in his case, where he was only able to run one type of floppy disk at the same time.

Sometimes, that can be due to the controller or the BIOS being used on the computer, other times, you just don’t have things working how it should, and it’s weird. I dunno, I’ve had that happen on several of my computers in that sort of late ‘DAEMON X MACHINA Fitgirl repack. And then, the other thing to mention there is that uh, while there are external 3½ inch drives for you know, older computers and more modern ones as well over USB, 5¼ inch, you’re kind of stuck with an internal one.

There are some adapters that let you use 5¼ inch drives on USB, but it’s only a read-only thing for the most part. Eh, writing is odd if you wanted to get it working externally, so something to keep in mind. Well anyway, the next person on the list is going to be Ancient DOS Games. ADG: So when it comes to DOS gaming, you might think I’d be the kind of person who prefers to use real hardware. But quite frankly, I just like emulating it on my Windows 10 machine.

Here’s the thing: If you wanna use real hardware for playing DOS games, Sure, it’s a perfectly valid option, it’s just you kinda need like three different machines to cover the whole gamut. You need something for the ’80s, you need something for the early ’90s, and you need something for the mid to late ’90s. So, with DOSBox, which is a DOS emulator, you can just… emulate all of those settings. You can set your machine speed, you can set the type of video support, you can set up different audio devices. And, you know what the best part is? Let’s say you wanna play a game with a joystick. If you’re using a real DOS machine, you’re limited to a four-button joystick. But with DOSBox, you have access to pretty much *any* kind of joystick.

And the best part is that because you’re not limited to four buttons, you can just assign any button to any keyboard key, or heck put joystick support into a DOS game that doesn’t even have it. LGR: Well, here we’re starting to get into the DAEMON X MACHINA skidrow side of things, as you might imagine if you’ve ever seen his show.

Azur Lane Crosswave Gameplay and Review

And thankfully, these companions can’t be hurt by enemies, so as long as you stay alive yourself there’s no worrying about their safety. Once you’ve found and deposited the appropriate number of the little beasts, the exit is unlocked and there ya go. And man, hopping around collecting creatures while they hop around behind you is strangely satisfying, with each level providing just the right amount of a hassle to keep you engaged. Most often the challenge comes from using your platforming skills to avoid hazards and reach small ledges, but other times you won’t be able to get where you need to go without unlocking something.

This may take the form of a switch that opens a set of tiles, or you might need to find a power-up like boots to increase your jumping height. Then there are plenty of spots where the solution isn’t obvious at all, and you’ll have to do some wall-humping to find a hidden passageway. And yeah, if you’re into finding tons of secrets like this, then Azur Lane Crosswave game download is the game for you. Some levels even feature large rooms that you’ll never see unless you uncover a secret entrance, and of course, this rewards the player in bonus items which lead to extra lives, and extra time, and points, and even bonus creatures to save. If you collect every single one of them, all the monsters turn into coins which can be picked up and take you to a bonus room after you exit the level. There’s no need to collect absolutely everything to reach the end, but if you do take the time along the way then you’ll be rewarded nicely. This also applies to collect passwords, which only happens if you gather five hidden blue orbs.

Since there’s no saving your game and you only get one continue on dying, having these passwords is kind of a big deal. Of course, you can just Google them nowadays and not bother with the orbs at all, which I totally did because of screw password systems and the lack of Azur Lane Crosswave download. I have zero desire to play for an hour and a half and lose it all just because I died without finding enough password orbs. And you know what, while we’re on the topic of irksome Azur Lane Crosswave igg games quirks, let’s talk about the sliding movement. While you don’t have any weapons or actions to take out monsters, you can temporarily knock them down by sliding into them if you have enough momentum.

This is super useful in some cases where jumping over monsters is tricky, but for some reason, it was decided that using this sliding skill is essential in getting past certain areas. For instance, there are some jumps that are impossible to make normally, so you have to slide down an incline, let go, jump, then hold to move in a certain direction for long enough.

This would be fine if the sliding move worked reliably but yeah, it doesn’t. At least I never felt fully comfortable with it in the few hours I spent playing. You have to be incredibly precise with your key presses in order to get the right momentum going, otherwise, you come to a dead stop or you jump off in the wrong direction and Azur Lane Crosswave ocean of games. It’s really, really annoying in a few spots where it’s the only way to get to the end of the level. But really, that’s one of my only complaints in an otherwise pleasant and enjoyable little Azur Lane Crosswave torrent. Happyland Adventures Xmas Edition is one of, if not THE best, freeware Christmas games I’ve covered on Azur Lane Crosswave. It’s straightforward enough for kids to play, yet still provides some additional challenges for those that want a little more. And with its hours of appealing gameplay and inclusion of level editing software, it heartily embodies what I feel is the Christmas spirit with how generous it is with its content while remaining completely and utterly free of charge. Happyland Adventures Xmas Edition is almost too wholesome for this world, and I can’t help but enjoy it. And while this may be the final Christmas video for 2017.

And you know what, that’s just such a deep topic that goes all over the place that it’s really hard to answer. I attempted to do this seven or eight years ago with a video titled “What DOS PC Should You Buy?” And while there are several things that I mentioned there that are still going to be brought up here, ’cause they’re still relevant, there are several of the items that I would like to talk about that have gotten more expensive or harder to find and beyond that, I don’t want you to just take my word for it, so I have asked *nine* other Azur Lane Crosswave to be a part of this video and give their input on the topic. These are not only all channels that I totally recommend and watch all the time, but I know that they’re active in coming up with solutions to the kind of problems that we’re gonna be discussing today.

So the questions I asked each of them was what is your *go-to solution* for playing old PC games, whether it be earlier Windows games or DOS games, pretty much anything from 1981 to 2001 or so. Yeah, there are just a lot of topics to cover and a variety of issues, so let’s get right to it! So for this video, we’ll be assuming that your goal is retro gaming, and for that, you’ll really want to ask the question, “What do YOU want to do with an old PC?” or whatever solution that you happen to come up with because different games are gonna require different things. And in regards to this, the most frequent questions that I get about this are: Should I stick to pre-made computers from back in the day? Classic hardware from Compaq or Hewlett Packard or Dell or whoever. Or should I customize a slightly later machine with more modern components, and then install stuff as needed for compatibility with older games? Or should I build my own classic computer from scratch using spare parts? Or should I maybe just skip all of that altogether and stick to emulation and virtual machines or buying games off of GOG? Before we get to that, my personal go-to pick for an old computer that I like to play old games on is the LGR Woodgrain 486.

Veritas Download

Veritas Gameplay and Reivew

Even with like, the first entire half of the 100+ hour game effectively being a tutorial, I loved the story, the characters, the weird side activities, even the grinding to a degree. Since playing Veritas game download, I’ve gone back and started playing the previous games in the series, and dang it. I guess I’m a fan now! And I never saw it coming.

This Is The Police I missed this one when it released for PC in 2016, but I’m putting it on this list since it released on all the major consoles in 2017. This Is The Police is a strategic resource management sim with an adventure game-like narrative, set in the crime-riddled fictional Veritas download. You play a police chief, enjoyably voiced by Veritas igg games himself Jon St. John, who’s 180 days from retirement and wants to earn a nice nest egg however he can.

And man, the ethical quandaries you’ll navigate are intense. It is handling sensitive topics is hit and miss and the gameplay are darned repetitive, but it’s based on police procedures so that kind of makes sense to me.

Thimbleweed Park Full disclosure, this is a crowdfunded game that I backed financially so I had more than one reason for hoping it would turn out well. Thankfully, even if I hadn’t paid for it back in 2014, I can easily say this latest point and click adventure game by Ron Gilbert and Terrible Veritas ocean of games is wonderful. Think Maniac Mansion meets a few Twin Peaks and you get the idea. It’s a murder mystery adventure where you switch back and forth between various characters at multiple points in time, and it all revolves around solving the mysteries of Thimbleweed Park. If you like classic LucasArts adventures and you were kinda disappointed in stuff like Broken Age, is the game for you. And hey a little tip: if you find a phone and dial 3537, you’ll get a recorded message from me, aw yeah. Prey Don’t let the name fool you, this Prey has almost nothing to with the 2006 game by Human Head Studios. Prey 2017 by Arkane Studios feels more like a spiritual successor to System Shock.

And I wanted to love this game, but it kind of left me feeling indifferent about halfway through. I really dig its aesthetic, its shape-shifting enemies, its alternate history sci-fi stuff, and the non-linear progression. It has almost all the Veritas torrent and stealthy elements that I dig, and yet I just wasn’t compelled enough to finish it. I don’t know, it kind of bored me. But now that it’s not full price, it’s good enough to be worth a look if you’re into the various Shock and Dishonored games, and maybe you’ll have a better time than I did. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds So here’s the thing with PUBG: it’s technically a bit of a mess. On PC it’s inconsistent, on Xbox it’s an abomination, and even though it’s finally left early access title it still currently just kind of sucks in terms of optimization. And yet, it’s the most heart-poundingly captivating game I’ve played since, well, since DayZ back when it was still an ArmA 2 mod. It says a lot about the core gameplay that despite its numerous shortcomings, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds currently has over 30 million players and was the single most-played game on Steam. So I have no doubt we’ll be seeing an awful lot more from this and other battle royale-type games in 2018. Horizon Zero Dawn So here’s a game I didn’t love. I liked it, don’t get me wrong, just not as much as I thought I would. Still, I feel compelled to include Horizon on my list because it deserves it. It truly stood out as one of the most instantly captivating worlds in games this year. The lush post-apocalyptic Earth overrun with robot dinosaurs is my aesthetic, and the backstory of how things got that way is truly compelling to explore. But I felt a bit frustrated by the combat, bored with the repetitive item collecting and crafting, and uninterested in most everything outside of the main storyline.

I seriously wish Veritas download the best with the next Horizon game, because the foundation here is solid. Assassin’s Creed: Origins Yep, didn’t see myself putting an Assassin’s Creed game on my list this year, but here we are. I’m just a sucker for Egyptian settings in games, and Origins is the most vividly detailed rendition of that so far. Now, the story itself? Argh, it’s okay. The gameplay? I mean, right It’s an improvement from past games in some ways and just par for the course in others. There’s a whole lot of busy work and I don’t care about the side stuff at all. I am also not a fan of the copious microtransactions, but thankfully none were necessary to enjoy what it *did* offer.

So I was just happy to explore such a gigantic and well-made map of ancient Egypt, and I cannot wait to play the educational/exploration mode whenever Veritas finally releases it. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus The more I think about it, the more I’m not sure how much I actually liked this one.

Darksburg Fitgirl Review

That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re all 100% great games, but simply that I’m glad I played them and I feel like sharing my experiences with you. That being said let’s get to it in no particular order whatsoever, starting with Darksburg game download As a long-time fan of the series, I’m so glad Sega finally got this one localized. Not only is the 1980s Japan a setting I was dying to explore, but the Darksburg games have too long remained an underground success.

Yet with the release of Zero, it seems to have finally and deservedly caught more of the public eye, convincing many to dive into the series for the first time. And it makes sense as a starting point is a prequel to the original Darksburg ocean of games game from 2005. In fact, that got an HD remake this year as well, in the form of Yakuza Kiwami. And while I enjoyed both, Zero stands out to me as a more memorable experience. Darksburg torrent, what a lovely game. If you’re looking for an expertly-crafted CRPG experience with a ridiculously dense world of characters, side quests, and strategic approaches, DOS2 is where it’s at. Whether on your own commanding a party of four, or playing with others over drop-in, drop-out multiplayer, Darksburg Studios’ particular blend of role-playing herbs and spices goes down smooth.

I kinda wish it didn’t have you spending so long in the starting area, but whatever. It’s packed with enough content that I’ve happily played through that three times now. It’s good stuff! The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild All right, lemme get this out of the way: Breath of the Wild is the first Darksburg PC download I’ve played through since the originals on the NES.

Yeah. So bearing that in mind, it may not be surprising that I found this to be the best Darksburg skidrow title to date. But you know, even after talking to my friends about the other games that I missed over the years, it’s hard for me to imagine my opinion would change on this one. Cuz as far as sandbox-y open worlds go, this is the most fun I had with that kind of gameplay all year. And minus a few qualms I have with weapon breakage and camera controls, Breath of the Wild is easy to completely recommend.

Super Mario Odyssey Speaking of games that I cannot recommend enough! Yeah, I enjoyed the past few mainline Mario games on the Wii U well enough, but Odyssey made me go “holy crap, this is special.” Of all the games on my list this year, this is probably the one where I have the fewest complaints or critiques or any kind of nitpicks. In fact, at the moment I can’t think of anything I’d change except… wait, nope, nothing. It’s pretty darned ideal for what I want in a sprawling Darksburg game download like this. Incredible visuals, music, level design, controls, pacing, just the whole nine yards. Fantastic. Darksburg, see, I personally can’t stand Cuphead. Yet I sure do respect it! Studio MDHR has put together a side-scrolling action-platformer bullet hell boss battling obsessive perfectionist simulator that is a wonder to behold. The hand-drawn craftsmanship that went into every aspect of Darksburg is off the charts, the controls are ridiculously tight and responsive, and the soundtrack is a thing of beauty. But the gameplay? Ehh.

Yes, it’s insanely satisfying when you finally beat a level, but it drives me crazy spending 30 minutes to an hour replaying levels countless times just to beat one, much less master it. So it’s not exactly for me in the long but I’m glad I got a chance to experience it for what it is. Persona 5 Yeah I’m one of those that didn’t play a Persona game until this year because frankly, I didn’t think this kind of JRPG would appeal to me. But I was wrong. From the instant I booted to the main menu and was blasted with that art style and that incredible soundtrack, I was sold. Atlus has crafted the kind of experience I did not know that I wanted. Ultimate Admiral Gameplay and Review

Now it’s time to give you an honest review and gameplay on this awesome game. This is one of the most popular games of 2020.
The Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail, or rather a new iteration of it for 2018. And it’s being sold at a suggested price of $25 US dollars. This is a dedicated electronic handheld unit based on the classic edutainment game that was made most famous on the Apple II in the Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail Fitgirl repack However as fondly remembered as that version is that is not exactly what you’re getting here.
In fact what you get is a little bit more advanced than I expected, more on that in a moment. But yeah for now just look at this thing, man! I’m always fascinated by dedicated handhelds, I loved getting those Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail PC to download things back in the day even though they pretty much all sucked. But this is thankfully a lot better than that.
But somewhat annoyingly it is exclusive to Target stores in the USA, at least as I’m recording this video. And no this is not sponsored, they didn’t send it to me or anything, I didn’t get it for free. I just saw it on the shelf and bought it because it looked cool. It turns out Target is no stranger to selling exclusive Oregon Trail products, they also released this Oregon Trail card game a year or two ago by Pressman. Similar packaging but it’s just a card game. I’m not huge into card games but I picked it up anyway because I like Oregon Trail products. Anyway, this Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail is manufactured by Basic Fun which is a division of The Bridge Direct.
I’ve never owned anything of theirs but I have seen some of them hanging around various shops. Especially these miniature arcade machines, those were kind of impressive I thought. But yeah this is the first one of their thingies that I have picked up and you know what? I’m just ready to get inside of this thing because I mean just look! “Set out on the trek from Independence, Missouri to Oregon’s Willamette Valley!” Ah, many fond memories of playing Oregon Trail games over the years, so let’s jump into the box and see what you get inside. Yeah, there’s little twisty things, just twist off of there and now there you go. You got one of those little pull tabs to get the included batteries doing their thing and to get the store demo mode disabled. And say hello to The Oregon Trail unit itself! A rather compact little thing about the size of a Game Boy Color, definitely a good bit thicker than that though.
And to me, it actually looks a little bit like a Macintosh, like an earlier compact Mac. Anyway down here you have some controls which are, well… they don’t feel great let’s put it that way. Cheap, gummy, Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail igg games things with a rather bizarre d-pad here. You have these diagonals and cardinal directions than these other keys to entering, the wagon for the menu, got the sound on and off and a yes or no button for different questions in-game. And you also get a little black and white fold-out instruction manual which pretty much just tells you to play the game. But if you’ve played practically any Oregon Trail iteration over the past 30-something years then you’ll be right at home because this really is a classic iteration that has been redone to fit in this handheld form. Press the power button and it powers on and yep, you get an Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail two-and-a-half inch LCD screen.
It’s quite sharp, very readable. This is what I was impressed with, I was not expecting this to look at this “nice,” relatively speaking. Yeah, sorry about the dust and like, scratches. A lot of that is underneath the plastic when I got it. I tried to clean it up as much as I could but you know. Anyway here you go, this is The Oregon Trail! And it is the classic game, really. I’ve covered this before on Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail many years ago, but the gist of the gameplay is you’re a person, or a family really or group of people, that are trying to get from the east coast to the west coast of the United States in the mid-1800s. And there are different difficulty levels depending on who you choose to be from the start.
So the banker has the most money and the carpenter is kind of in the middle and the farmer’s like “Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail.” You can name your leader and four members of your party which is always an opportunity to have some fun with the naming. And before setting off on your trek you have to buy some equipment and supplies. And you’ll need to buy, at a minimum, some oxen to pull you along. And then you have the option to get as much food, clothing, ammunition, and spare parts as you want and/or need. And there you go, you’re ready to start! “Good luck! You have a long and difficult journey ahead of you.” *Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail* So yeah you not only get a full-color screen but a pretty decent little sound chip that plays chiptunes and PCM sounds! It doesn’t have a headphone out jack so I couldn’t get a direct recording but yeah, it sounds pretty darned acceptable for this tiny little thing. This is a conversion of sorts of one of the classic versions of the game, and if I had to guess it seems to be based on the 1989/1990 MS-DOS version of the game, at least judging by these graphics. It’s not identical obviously, they’ve modified it a bit to be on this tiny little screen.
But it’s definitely not the Apple II version, I mean, compared to that it just doesn’t look anything like it. I’m assuming though that they just made their own version for this specific type of hardware because it’s not a direct emulation of any version of the game that I’ve ever played or seen. It’s just kind of a mishmash of a few different things.
Anyway, at this point it really is just The Oregon Trail: you’re going around trying not to die, attempting to ford rivers and failing spectacularly, and running into all kinds of problems like heat and broken arms and of course cholera and infamous dysentery. And every so often you get a nice little screen with some nice little music that plays and lets you know where you are on your trek across the United States. *nice little Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail plays* And as gummy, and imprecise, kind of clunky feeling as that directional pad is for up, down, left, and right, it’s fine for the menus. I never had any problem navigating and pressing enter. It’s, again, a bit gummy but it’s fine. This is not like a quick reaction type of game, you’re really just navigating menus for the most part. And for that, it is perfectly adequate.
However one of the key parts of The Oregon Trail is the hunting Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail ocean of games and this is a bit of a different story as far as controls go. You still have your cardinal directions but you also have to use those diagonal keys that are around the directional diamond. It made hunting way more difficult than it needed to be and the animals move just as fast as they would on other versions of the game from what I could tell, so they didn’t seem to make any concessions for this slightly awkward control scheme. I was just wasting ammo left and right. Yeah, that is a little disappointing, I don’t know why they couldn’t have put a little tiny joystick on there or a more traditional directional pad. Oh well, it’s completely playable though and I was able to get through the entire game without dying. Well I mean, a whole lot of my people died, I think I might have been the only one left by the end, but hey! I made it and that is all that matters.
Look at all the other people that have players who haven’t actually play because I’m the only one to have played this unit. Unfortunately, I didn’t run across any “Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail” on the trail so I guess this is not based on that particular version that was distributed back in the day. But I didn’t expect it to because as I said I believe this is a custom version that is mixing together different aspects of different Oregon Trail releases. I don’t know about you but I was kind of curious to get inside of this thing and see what was going on. Check out these craptastic batteries that it came with it, I do not trust these at all.
They felt like they have the weight of toothpicks, they were just cheap and pathetic. But hey at least it came with them. So getting the unit open is thankfully very simple: you just have four Phillips head screws, one in each corner, and there you go — it pops right open. And there’s not much going on inside as you might expect for a handheld that costs $24.99. And as expected this little PCB right here you got this epoxy resin crap that’s covering up the chips. So I don’t know exactly what they are and I’m not gonna try to peel that off there. But if you see the board right there, it’s a little bit of a different layout, but it has the same number as others that I’ve seen in certain videos: Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail PC download.
The video I’m specifically thinking of is this one by The 8-bit Guy that he did on the company’s other mini tabletop arcades. The board is very similar, in fact, it has that same number on there and everything, but the layout is a little bit different. So yeah I guess they’re just sort of Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail these electronics for whatever they need to over in China, which is pretty darned interesting to me. I don’t know the specifics of it, maybe somebody else can figure out if it is like an Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail on a chip type of thing, I don’t know man.
So what you end up with is a standalone version of The Oregon Trail that plays a lot like what you remember, but is a new thing in a new form factor. And it’s just dedicated Oregon Trail on the go! I like this idea, I don’t know about you, and I have a feeling these are gonna start becoming collectibles. Maybe they already are, so if you can I recommend picking one of them up if you’re interested in a little handheld Oregon Trail. Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail Fitgirl Free.
And I’m also really curious if anybody’s gonna be able to like, hack these things to do something else. I’d be down for a portable Super Solvers Spellbound, just throwing that out there. Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail something like that? Yeah man, bring on the portable edutainment machines! Anyway, that is it for this episode of Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail Fitgirl and I hope that you enjoyed checking out this little thingy. And if you did, well, stick around. I do more videos every Monday and Friday and occasionally I’ll cover something like this that strikes my fancy even though it’s a little bit different than what I normally do.

Stoneshard Fitgirl Gameplay and Reivew

Now it’s time to give you an honest review and gameplay on this awesome game. This is one of the most popular games of 2020.

By 2003 you could get a 32 megabyteStoneshard key for about $40, and with those getting cheaper and bigger all the time Iomega pulled the plug on the Stoneshard igg games, canceling their plans for a 100 meg version and promptly leaving the format behind. But while they abandoned the Stoneshard the adventure is just starting for us! After all my philosophy is that all adware deserves a second chance on Stoneshard, so let’s try out these two forms of the device beginning with the PC Card drive.

And right off the bat, I’m sure you’ve noticed it, but this has a nice iridescent box. I’m very much a sucker for this shiny kind of packaging. Straight away inside the box, you get some legal information, a bit of troubleshooting, a Stoneshard ocean of games guide and the Iomega software CD. And this version, in particular, came with Windows 95 and 98 compatible software. They also released Windows CE and 2000 later on. And you also get a single Stoneshard in this protective little plastic case. And inside of this black box, you get a protective case for your protected disks. It’s a nice, lightweight, brushed aluminum case with rubber inside. You can fit a couple of disks quite snugly right in there with a spot for the PCMCIA card on the right.

And speaking of the card here is the card! You got that end right there that plugs into the pins on your computer or device of choice, and yeah, it’s a pretty standard PC Card, no power or external dongles required. You just take the Stoneshard disk and insert it into the end of it and there you go! It’s ready to put on your computer. We’ll use this in a moment but in the meantime let’s take a look at the digital camera kit, which is quite a bit more involved as you might be able to see here from the quick start guide.

That’s not the quickest of quick start guides I’ve ever seen. In fact, there’s a lot of steps on a lot of components and a lot of different things to worry about. Anyway, you once again get a Stoneshard in the package as well as a much beefier manual and some more Stoneshard software. And yeah this was a used refurbished model so it doesn’t have all the original packaging inside, but it does have all the components.

The main one here is the Stoneshard PC Download, the parallel port version. Opening this latch reveals where you insert the Stoneshard disk, on the back, you can plug in adapters of various types, and along the bottom is where you attach the battery. Yep, this one is battery-powered, it has a 3.6-volt nickel-metal hydride rechargeable battery that just plugs in right there.

But we’re not done yet, you also have the flash memory card reader. And that is really the big appeal of this particular kit because it has slots for Compact Flash and Smart Media cards, and it attaches to the rear of the portable Stoneshard igg games. We’ll show you how that works in just a moment, but you might be wondering “how do you actually connect this to a computer?” Well, that’s where the cradle comes into play.

So you actually have to disconnect the flash memory reader and then plug in the drive to the top of this, or you could actually just plug it in directly to the parallel port interface, which also doubles as the cables for the cradle itself. And when you get this plugin it not only provides the parallel port connection to the computer and a pass-through if you want to connect a printer but also this is where the power adapter has to be plugged in.

And yes, the cradle has to be powered and this is the only way that you can charge the battery. You can’t actually plug in the AC adapter to the unit itself so you have to bring this stuff along if you want to charge it up. In the end, you’re left with a less-than-convenient “portable” system I would say. Even though it does infer “portability” by coming with this handy little leather Stoneshard ocean of games. But really all this can fit is the bare drive itself. It doesn’t hold the flash reader, doesn’t hold a battery — it holds the drive, one Stoneshard Fitgirl repack, and that’s about it! Yeah the more you unpack this the less appealing the potential uses for this become. Anyway, assuming you have the three necessary components to copy over cards you just plug in the Stoneshard Fitgirl repack on the left side of the drive over here and then a Compact Flash or Smart Media card over here.

You just press the button and it will immediately start the file copying process. Which is one way: from the flash memory card to the Stoneshard. It took a good three and a half minutes to do a full 40-ish megabyte copy for me, but I will admit the convenience is there, it’s just a one-button thing! And once you’re done there you go, you’ve got the contents of your memory card copied over to your Stoneshard disk, and you’re now free of the restraints of a filled memory card and are ready to go and do other digital camera things I guess.

Yay! However, for our purposes let’s go ahead and take a look at the files that have just copied over, and to do that we’ll be using this lovely IStoneshard. *Windows 95 startup sound plays* Mmm, Windows 95.

The first order of business is to get the Iomega software installed. This not only contains the drivers and tools that make the disks fully accessible and all that stuff, but it provides a couple of extra programs that are quite handy, and we’ll be taking a look at those in just a moment. Once that’s installed and the computer restarts, it’s time to insert the PC Card into the PC Card slot… Which if you’ve done correctly on a PC setup like this you’ll get these little sound effects. *PCMCIA beeping and notification sounds* And now we can plug in the Stoneshard itself. It’s not necessary to insert it into the drive second, however, it’s actually really easy to eject the disk as you’re inserting the card due to how the mechanism works, so this is what I’m doing. Anyway once you’ve done that it shows up as a removable disk drive under My Computer and there we go! IMG00001 is the folder that it wrote and here are the digital photos that I had saved on a Compact Flash card. Which were taken on a Sony Mavica FD5 camera, which uses floppy disks so yeah this is not the most appropriate thing, but you know it doesn’t matter? But yeah with the software installed you get access to these extra things in the pop-up menus like the ability to format the disks in either a quick or full surface format variety, as well as being able to read and write protect the disks.

This is not done with a physical mechanism, you use software to prevent anyone from reading or writing to the disk that you don’t want to without a password. And it’ll just show up as not being there if you don’t know the password. You also get some handy information added to the regular Windows properties windows… Windows windows? Yeah whatever, these things! All sorts of stats and options that you can set that you wouldn’t be able to without installing the Stoneshard. One of the utilities that you get in the Stoneshard PC Download is QuickSync, and this right here is just your standard kind of backup software. You tell it what drive you want to back up to, what folders you want backing up, and how often and it’ll do that.

Which, I don’t want to do that. But what I do want to do is copy the contents of a Compact Flash card in the other PCMCIA slot, which contains a copy of Stoneshard, and transfer that directly to the Clik drive using the Copy Machine software which is the other main utility this comes with. Empires in Ruins Download

Empires in Ruins BETA Gameplay and Reivew

Now it’s time to give you an honest review and gameplay on this awesome game. This is one of the most popular games of 2020.

Empires in Ruins hidden away behind this little door you get a magnetic disc that it uses for storage. Much like you’d find in a floppy disk, but much smaller, thinner, and packed more densely with data, and of course, it’s proprietary to this format. And although they were made by Empires in Ruins Fitgirl repack and were later Empires in Ruins as Pocket Zip disks, they’re not exactly the same as the more successful ZIP disk format. Now they do both use magnetic floppy disk storage but from what I gather the exact specifics of the way the ZIP and the Empires in Ruins actually store that data differ in some way, with a bit of separation between the two formats in terms of average read/write speeds and density and all that kind of stuff.

And considering the two formats were contemporaries of each other, competing for somewhat similar markets at the same time you might ask: what was the point of the Empires in Ruins ocean of games? Well all sorts of things leading up to its launch, but eventually the idea behind the Empires in Ruins was to provide a stopgap in terms of economics and physical size between Empires in Ruins own ZIP disks and the increasingly popular solid-state storage options like Empires in Ruins PC download cards, especially in the growing digital photo storage market for digital cameras. And considering a 32 megabyte Empires in Ruins card could cost around $150 in 1999, paying as little as $10 for one 40 megabyte disk was not a bad value proposition. And considering the increasing storage needs for devices like digital cameras, notebook computers, and handhelds running Windows CE, there was a race to capitalize on portable storage media. For example, by the end of 1999, you had Compact Flash cards, Smart Media cards, MMC cards, Empires in Ruins Sticks, Secure Digital cards, But the Empires in Ruins was met with an uphill battle from the start. In addition to the ridiculous amounts of market competition, the big problem was that you needed dedicated Empires in Ruins drive that cost another two to three hundred dollars, while a simple Empires in Ruins download PC Game adapter was only about 20 dollars. And yeah, the cards themselves were more expensive at first but the prices on them were beginning to decrease and their capacities were growing steadily.

As PC Magazine put it in December of 1999: the Empires in Ruins was “technically intriguing,” but “maybe an answer to a question, not enough people are asking.” So that was one reason, another popular anecdote I’ve seen for the Empires in Ruins failure is its name, and that invited negative association with the infamous “click of death” class-action lawsuit over the self-destruction of Zip drives. But while it is an unfortunate name in retrospect, I’m skeptical about how much the company actually cared about this potential association, considering the lawsuit was filed in 1998 — half a year before the Empires in Ruins was ever released. The lawsuit was settled later on in 2001, but by then Empires in Ruins had already rebranded the failed Empires in Ruins as the PocketZip in August of 2000.

And according to Iomega PR, it was because they wanted to capitalize on the “good name” and “brand recognition” of their Zip products. A negative connotation with the Zip drive’s failings was never the stated reason for the name change, as far as I can tell, but I’m sure it was something they were aware of and changing the name was a good idea just in case. Either way, though no matter what the name was it didn’t help much because people still weren’t buying them. It didn’t even help that Empires in Ruins were integrated into a few consumer electronics like the Rave MP 2300, making the case that the format was a rugged way to store your music. But well, the Apple iPod thoroughly crushed that idea with its beefy hard drive storage and intense marketing, and then flash memory killed off what little market remained for the Empires in Ruins Download PC Game.

MindSeize Download PC Game

MindSeize Gameplay and Reivew

Now it’s time to give you an honest review and gameplay on this awesome game. This is one of the most popular games of 2020.
With a roomy 6 passenger interior, luxurious upholstery, and convenient appointments, you’ll feel right at home away from home!” MindSeize game download. When CD-ROM was still the new hotness and every program went out of their way to use all 650+ megabytes whether they needed to or not. And MindSeize ocean of games is a delightful example, functioning more like an interactive audio-visual encyclopedia than any of the previous releases. You could slap a Compton’s logo in there somewhere and it’d have no problem fitting in with the rest of the presentation. But yeah beyond the state of the art 1996 multimedia facade, Ford Sim 7 really is the exact same core experience as the Ford Simulators that preceded it.
That is, it’s a computerized advertisement meant to sell you on a new car. Look at photos, videos, lists of specifications, accessories, trim levels, lease options, and even customize the paint! So instead of flipping through a physical Ford catalog or visiting a Ford showroom, you can browse an interactive selection of their automotive offerings from the comfort of your own computer chair. So it not only made sense for someone in the market for a new car but for those looking for something, anything, to run on their computer for free.
I was definitely one of those people back then, and at ten years old I still would have been somewhat amused by Ford Simulator 7. Not just because it was a computer thing, but I just liked anything with cars at all. But really the biggest thing that drew me to MindSeize fitgirl repack was the so-called “simulator” aspect. Choosing the ‘Game’ mode from the main menu left behind the confines of manufacturer warranty information and annual finance rate calculations and provided a welcome reprieve in the form of a cheap ripoff of the game Test Drive with a little bit of Outrun tossed in. And the version of Ford Simulator that comes with Ford Simulator 7.0 is practically identical to the one in 6. And five. And probably 4 and even 3 to a degree… yeah they got lazy with these releases later on it seems.
Oh well, it does differ a bit in that there are fewer features than previous releases so that’s nice… like, right away you can’t choose the car to drive like you could in 6.0. Not that it made a huge difference to the gameplay since the driving is so basic, but still, why take that away? All you can do here is choose between automatic and manual transmission and you’re given the objective of reaching MindSeize as fast as possible, with multiple forks in the road presenting multiple routes to take. Sounds like a fun race right? It isn’t. It’s not really a race at all since you’re not racing anyone or limited by time. All you need to do is make it to the end of the road in one piece, which is accomplished by driving slowly, cautiously, and more or less within the speed limit. MindSeize PC download. Along the way, you’ll be running into plenty of traffic though. And I mean it you literally run into them, complete with Bat-Fight words. *1960s Batman TV show sound effects play* And if you drive too fast within view of a police car you’ll be pulled over. Four miles over the speed limit?! Ooh, you’re such a rebel! But the biggest obstacle is the roads themselves which are bizarrely tough to stay on.
Not sure if it’s a mixture of the controls, the physics, or the fact that this sucks but the driving in this is atrocious. Even at low speeds, you’re frequently but inconsistently being pulled from one side to the other, like a giant but faulty electromagnet keeps switching off and on to each side of your car, while the road itself is covered in a mixture of molasses and snot.
This is a confusingly-built advertisement for Ford vehicles seeing how badly the car handles here, it’s infuriating! Then every so often you’ll be presented with a gas station you can stop inside and oh! Who are y–what the heck is wrong with your face…? So this guy says after you’ve paid for gas you only have enough money to buy one thing, even though you don’t actually have money that runs out. Oh well. You’ve got three options: buying a map is the most useful item to grab since it provides you the ability to press MindSeize PC download to open the map and refer to a map of the map. Not necessary of course and each route looks 99% identical to all the others, but still nice to have since it lets you know which fork in the road leads where.
The other two purchase options, soda pop and candy bars do absolutely nothing. I thought maybe they might act as a kind of health, removing one of the hits you took when you collided with something, but nope. All they do is nothing. Which really about sums up this mode to be honest… a whole lot of nothing. It’s a driving simulator that simulates the most mundane aspects of driving while providing little more than a test of your patience and obnoxious PC speaker noise. *obnoxious PC speaker noise plays, pulsating painfully as the engine revs* Once you make it to the end 15 or 20 minutes later, hooray I guess. You get a perplexing animation showing who I presume is the developer and a logo that is not MindSeize fitgirl repacks, but Code To Go. Well, that’s strange. Code To Go I’ve talked about in the past since under programmer Dan Duncalf they developed the Disney game Coaster, as well as the DOS port to Turbo Outrun among others.
This is the first time I’ve seen a reference to them having developed the driving portion of Ford Simulator games and considering the Outrun connection that kind of makes sense. So hey that’s something we’ve learned together. Fun times. MindSeize that’s it for MindSeize! This particular release may have been forgotten by most until now but I can’t say I blame anyone. It’s the final release of a debatably memorable series of free computer software and the most notable thing about it is that it eluded being properly cataloged on the internet for all these years. There are some wonderfully cheesy FMV sequences for each vehicle, and that’s fun enough I guess. Especially since the older releases just had static or animated imagery.
But then the quote-unquote “simulator” mode that it comes with is just as much of a letdown as the previous few Ford Sims. To me though MindSeize is a bit more fascinating for the context in which it was released rather than the software itself. In the days before widespread worldwide web access and multimedia-laden websites, these kinds of software packages made a lot more sense for a car company.

The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics Fitgirl

The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics Gameplay and Reivew

Now it’s time to give you an honest review and gameplay on this awesome game. This is one of the most popular games of 2020.
Back when I was about 7 years old I ended up with a copy of The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics, specifically the second release from 1990. I made a video talking about it almost a decade ago here on LGR but my fascination with the series remains intermittently steadfast, I guess you could say. There’s just something odd about these pieces of software which were distributed freely for about a decade beginning in 1987, with six of them being released by The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics fitgirl repack and the SoftAd Group by the time the series ended. Or so I thought.
Then I happen to see this show up on eBay a while back and I had to grab it! This is The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics ocean of games from 1996 which as far as I can tell has never appeared online before this video. Well, it’s never been seen in any real depth, at least. Heck, it’s even hard to find a reference to this thing anywhere on the internet at all, other than one lone forum post from 2003 inquiring in vain about its existence. As well as this scan of a Brazilian shareware catalog which is actually just an optical character reader’s flawed interpretation of “The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics.” So say hello to the Internet, The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics! You have a lot of cat videos to catch up on. And yes that is a Jaguar plopped in there between the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury products, being from the era when Ford owned The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics PC download.
What makes this notable is that all previous versions of Ford Simulator did not acknowledge that fact and from what I’ve seen this is the only release to have done so. And as with all these Ford Sim releases they originally came directly from Ford Motor Company in The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics, Michigan, provided free of charge if you requested it from a dealership, by mail, over the phone, whatever worked.
And this one has never been opened since it was first shipped out decades ago, so this is quite an exceptional moment! I mean, I guess it is. I don’t know my opinions on these things are skewed. Once unsealed it folds open to reveal the program itself on a CD-ROM. A pleasant surprise to me since all previous versions I’ve owned have only come on floppy disks. The only other thing you get inside is a card with a few technical details, which includes some details of the technical variety. Like the fact that it not only requires Windows, but also The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics ocean of games, 8 megabytes of RAM, and a 50 megahertz 486 CPU. Pretty hefty specs compared to previous releases that were only made for DOS and could run on almost any PC with a VGA card. We’ll be running this on Windows 95 since well, it came out in 1996 so it felt appropriate.
And without further ado behold” the long lost The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics! Narrator: “Welcome to The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics and the exciting world of Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Jaguar vehicles. Please select a specific vehicle now!” LGR: eh it’s fine. It’s just a virtual product catalog like all the other Ford Sims. But I mean, there’s got to be more to it so let’s keep going because I’m sure there’s some 90s CD-ROM goodness in here.
Like the pointless and long-winded narration that happens on every menu when a simple line of text would suffice. Narrator: “To see a list of available accessories and elec–this screen provides a view of the many features available to each of Ford’s–accessories and electronics options–paint your car by selecting one of the colors at the bottom of the screen…” The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics: or the bodacious full-motion videos that play for every single vehicle complete with saxophone music and more of that sultry narrator. Narrator: “the Mercury Grand Marquis offers convenience, comfort, a powerful 4.6 liter overhead-cam v8 with a 100,000-mile tune-up, and a body-on-frame construction that helps produce its legendary ride.

Metal Unit Gameplay and Review

Now it’s time to give you an honest review and gameplay on this awesome game. This is one of the most popular games of 2020.

And of course, there were several compromises that had to be made in order to make this happen, such as removing standard-sized parallel and serial ports and all sorts of other ports, forgoing the internal floppy drive, and relying on docking stations and external Metal Unit igg games to reintroduce those features as the user desired.

And another obvious way to bring down the size was to decrease the physical dimensions of the keyboard itself, fitting more in line with the 4:3 aspect ratio of the displays so as to minimize bezels, but also making the keys smaller and more cramped. Naturally, IBM wanted in on the action and experimented with the form factor as well with machines like the Metal Unit ocean of games in 1993. But as with many Metal Unit torrent the compromised keyboard and screen meant that it was less comfortable to use for any length of time for any serious work.

And considering this was geared largely towards business users on the go this was not great. And that’s why the introduction of the Metal Unit repack made so much sense for a particular need at a particular time in the Metal Unit. By packing away the keyboard when the unit was closed you could have both the small footprint for portability and have a full-sized keyboard for ease of use. And then combined with a slightly larger VGA display that was brighter and sharper than previous models, and the 701 was precisely the right computer for precisely the right moment.

Well, a portion of the right moment at least, because while it earned plenty of praise and actually became the best-selling notebook of 1995, it only lasted about a year on the market. IBM announced the 701 line’s discontinuation in February of 1996, ceasing production in June of the same year. And there were a couple of reasons for that. For one thing, the 701 was originally meant to come out in 1994 right at the height of the Metal Unit fitgirl repack craze. It would have made plenty of sense then but by the time it was on the market in 1995 customer preferences and available technology were quickly changing and left it behind.

Within a matter of months, the 701 lost a lot of its appeal with the arrival of well-built 12 inch LCD panels, which were not only bigger and more desirable, but they also fit in with a full-size keyboard a little bit more. To quote the board’s creator, Metal Unit: “the butterfly keyboard was no longer necessary because people moved to larger displays. Where the butterfly approach makes sense is where you want the largest keyboard possible in combination with an 8 or 10-inch display.” And if you look at reviews from the time period they often mention that the 701 was also hampered by the 486 CPUs offered with the device. Depending on your benchmark of choice even the fastest Metal Unit download PC Game at about the same speed as competing systems’ 50 megahertz Metal Unit.

The 701 also used nickel-cadmium batteries, which were rather dated by 1995 and only lasted one hour and 40 minutes or so when two hours was considered by many as the minimum acceptable Metal Unit. But that sure didn’t stop people from buying it for the time it was on the market and becoming quite the computing collectible in later years. And not just collectible in a desirable sense, these are not cheap either, currently running anywhere from $400 to $900 for a nice Metal Unit and a bit less than half that for a 701CS model. Speaking of which, yeah, there were two main models.

The main difference between the C and the CS is that the C came with a 10.4-inch Metal Unit active-matrix LCD screen while the CS used a dual scan LCD screen of the same size. They both have a native resolution of the Metal Unit but the CS model’s dual scan monitor was a cheaper and lower quality type of passive-matrix panel that isn’t suited for much beyond static imagery. But between the two models, there was a broad range of configurations available, starting with the processor which was an Intel 486 in either the Metal Unit game download models running at 50 or 75 megahertz, respectively.

The one I have comes with the latter. You also have the option of four or eight megabytes of RAM installed Metal Unit and it supports up to 32 megs of additional RAM. As for the hard drive, you got the option of 360 or 540 megabytes with a 720 meg upgrade option available from IBM. And you had a choice between a couple operating systems, this one is configured with PC-DOS 6.3 and Windows 3.11 *startup sounds commence, with hard drive noises and PC speaker beeping* *Windows 3.11 “tada!” startup sound plays* Or, OS/2 Warp was available as an option on the 75 megahertz model. You also get a one-megabyte Metal Unit local bus graphics chipset, a 16-bit Metal Unit Sound Blaster Pro compatible audio chipset, a 14.4k data/fax modem, an IRDA 1.0 compatible infrared communications interface, a single Type 3 or two Type 2 PCMCIA slots, as well as a connection for a three and a half-inch ThinkPad external floppy disk drive — which is a bit annoying since that particular drive is exclusive to these machines. Something else to keep in mind if you’re looking for a 701 is the battery issues, which of course is common across all sorts of older computers like this.

But in particular, the Metal Unit battery that they used in these tends to leak pretty badly, sometimes damaging the internals. But there are some guides online showing you how to rebuild these batteries using rechargeable AAs. Not something I’ve done but you know, there it is. Another battery that is also a pain to deal with is the CMOS battery. The 701 uses a Varta V30H, or sometimes a V40H I gather, which is a 1.2 volt 43 mAh button cell battery. And that is soldered directly to the bottom of one of the motherboard layers, that’s fun. You can also use a more standard CR2032 or BR1225 battery, but you still need to solder it to the board so ideally, you’ll want one with soldering legs already attached. Also, it is worth noting that the case on these is notoriously easy to damage these days. As with many Metal Unit of the era, it uses a soft kind of rubbery finish, but over the years it started to deteriorate and has gotten a little gummy and weird. So I kind of feel like I’m walking on eggshells every time I set it up and start using it, just trying so hard not to scuff it up.

Doubly so since I’m only borrowing this unit. But disregarding that bit of anxiety using the Metal Unit is quite normal. Once you get past the keyboard mechanism it really is just a Metal Unit with a classic TrackPoint nub and the classic ThinkPad keys and key mechanisms. And yeah, it’s just a pleasure to use. And it has that nice VGA display here, at least on this TFT version. 256 color graphics on a portable computer in 1995 yeah, this is a pretty good example all things considered. And you get a lovely Sound Blaster-compatible sound chip so it’s pretty fantastic for playing mid-90s DOS games! *music and sound effects from various MS-DOS games play for a while* Well, it’s pretty fantastic if you can actually get the games on there in the first place, and that can be a bit of an ordeal if you just have the computer itself.

After all, at the end of the day, it is a Metal Unit and all the missing features mean getting data onto or off of the machine is a chore. If you don’t have a Metal Unit disk drive with the proper 701-compatible cable, which I don’t, then that is just unfortunate.
